Well done mate. Hope the repair sorts your car out.

I'd say the software update has done something it's not suppose to have. Take it back!

On your 160 ecoflex what are the revs at idle?

When approaching a give way, arrive in 2nd, still rolling all clear, accelerate massive juddering. I have been coming to a stop, selecting 1st and starting off to avoid it. Reading these posts seems like I may be suffering the DMF problem, thoughts anyone! />

Have agree with Andy, even in the auto it judders at times and has the sort of misfire without the bang! The ratios are poor in the auto and I don't think a software up date will solve that. I'm going to book mine in next week to see what's what as last time they said they would up date the ECU! Will wait and see what that does! Is it possible to re programme when the auto changes up or down via the ECU?

Thanks, as others have said i'm nearing the end of my 3yrs warranty, and having read these posts about dmf's was slightly nervous. I'm into the stealers on sat for my grille exchange, so will print off the pages from the forum relating to this and let them sort it out.

How did you get on mate???Which stealers did you take it to?

Reading this thread worries me because I have similar issues especially with low revs in a high gear (5th around 45-60mph and 6th 55-65mph).??Not all the time but at least on a daily basis.??Car is 2011 plate (160 Ecoflex) so within warranty.

            Thanks

            Jon

Just trawling through the net' no end of problems reported on DMF's

              Overheating

Blue- or straw-coloured annealed areas or heat cracks on the secondary flywheel (see image below) indicate overheating, generally caused by excessive clutch slip.

This causes the lubricating and damping grease within the DMF to break down, reducing vibration damping and causing internal parts to run dry and wear prematurely. Compromised lubrication may ultimately destroy these parts, which subsequently damage the housing (see image below). If there is any evidence of grease leaking from the DMF it should be replaced.

The circle of rivets around the hub area on the primary flywheel provides further evidence of overheating. A line of yellowing joining these rivets indicates wear of the collar separating the two flywheel masses, which could result in metal-to-metal contact. Replacement is the only option for an overheated DMF.

Sounds scarily familiar....??What mileage has your car done???Mine was replaced at 15,500 miles.... ish...

Registered in June 2011 and the previous owner only did 2500 miles.??I have had it nearly three weeks and it is only on 3400 miles so low mileage.

Wondered whether it just needed running in a bit (don't know much about cars!) but judging by other users stories etc think it is going to be best to get it checked over.

Just mentioned this on another thread. Siggy's don't like very hot or very cold weather. Juddering is common place for them in hot weather. No idea why, but they do. Mines juddered in very cold weather but wasn't as bad in hot weather. Others have it the other way around.

                      Hi,

I had (still have) problems with the DMF, the same symptoms, juddering at 50-75 on motorway, or even at lower speed sometimes. Sometimes the vibration i feel it in the chair, sometimes the judder is more obvious at a couple of minutes after I start the car in the morning. Told the mechanic, he told me that he put LUK flywheel on, said that if I have any problems, GSF (where he got the parts from) will fefund the monies or he can put a new kit on, free of charge.

I will have to go for it as I am not happy with the result at all.....in about 2 weeks will do it (when I am free) !!!

That sort of the noise makes a faulty vacuum selenoid valve

Have you cleaned / changed your MAP sensor. Mine had a judder and I cleaned mine as it was filthy along with the EGR valve (note yours is removed) and mine has been ok for a couple of months now.

Not your MAF sensor. Your MAP sensor. Have you done that also?
