surly for £100 one could get a car fully washed and polished and some change left over for coffee while they do it
Yes, but where is the fun in that? Most of the products are more than one use, some will last ages, others maybe 2 or three times. But i love the results from spending the time and hard work. Granted not for everyone. And you never truly know your car until you have cleaned it a few times properly.

couldn't agree more,, be a very sad day when I take my car to a back street hand car wash,to be "cleaned" with grit embedded rags !

21 separate products, so yeah expensive but products alone that's £5 each. Forgot to put synthetic wool mitt in picture say £5. A good £10 for pads and microfibres (x5 edgeless, x2 large plush edgeless), so what just over £4 a product, on a par with buying cheapo stuff when work it all out.
Test will be how they work, last, suit me and car etc.
Il post results when i get a full weekend to test.

Snow foam - used as a spray (no foamer), activated with water left for 15 minutes, seemed to work as described, Need foamer to test properly.
Car wash - Mix 260 - 1 , works really well with warm water, didn't leave many water marks after rinsing.
Micro fibres - nothing special in regards to drying. Was hard work actually, but used to old car that dried with one wipe.
Wheel cleaner - wow no smell, no colour change and don't need much. Wet wheels, spray on, leave 1 minute, brush in well, rinse. Only did them quick and not a very good wheel brush (to big), still managed to get a lot of ingrained crap from inside the rims.
Quick detail spray - used this as did not dry car perfectly. Spray on, wipe, change cloth buff off, even at 20:30 still buffed without much effort, just don't leave to dry to long or it needs another wipe with product to allow buffing.
Reckon il get about 10 snow foams from the 800ml bottle, 4/5 wheel cleans from the 250ml bottle, quick detail spray used next to none to be honest.

Started on the paint correction today, more a trial than anything else, see how products are, what i need to do etc.
Pure Definition Waterless Wash - Decided to just do one part at a time, car wasn't bad so used this to wipe each section down first. Not usually a fan of this stuff in general, it did ok, didn't scratch easy on and off. To be fair il save it for inside doors etc, also used it after claying to wipe down.
Pure Definition Clay Bar used with the quick detail as a lube - First time i have clayed a car, have to say the sections i did, it was quite easy, feels so much better and clay still in good condition. Granted the parts i did are going to be the easiest id imagine.
Before Clay
Paint correction next - Various grades in kit, i tried the medium to fine compound, ok on swirls but hard work by hand, so went for the heavy to medium compound by hand, this not as hard work by hand and after two passes removed most of light scratches. Suspect both would be good using a machine. Both easy to buff off when finished.
Next was a 3 in 1 type thing that tries to level the imperfections out, fill light scratches and swirls etc, good for if don't want to compound.
Easy on easy off.
Next was a pre wax cleanser - meant to prepare the surface to help bond waxes and sealants.
Easy on easy off.
Next was the sealant - Supposed to protect the paint surface for up to 10 months.
Easy on, its a very thin liquid. Leave to dry for 20 minutes then buff off, very easy.
Next was the liquid wax. Easy on, leave for 30 minutes then buff off. Very easy in fact just brush microfibre over and its gone.
I am not sure about this, its not a deep shine, but started to rain as finishing the buffing typical.
Photos don't do it justice to be honest, no swirls, all light scratches gone, most medium gone, heavy scratches look so much better.
Only did back bumper and back hatch, gonna take ages by hand

Managed to get the roof done, not perfect, it needs a machine polish and there is some top coat damage. Think someone used a hard brush to wash the roof, straight lines right across. Happy for now considering how it was.
