That front end looks fugly and engine range thats............underwhelming. The GSI only having 227bhp and 350nm torque from a 2ltr Turbocharged Petrol engine os a joke and a backward step.

Choice of engine/gearbox combinations a bit weird - 120bhp diesel or 143bhp petrol, both 3 cylinder with manual box, or 197bhp and 227 bhp petrol with auto box and 4 wheel drive. Definitely winding the range down!

      2018 1.5T SRi Nav
Bi-colour 18" alloys, de-chromed grille and foglights, full heated leather, reversing cam with park assist, heated front screen and steering wheel, blind spot monitoring, self parking (used once, it's crap!), Nextbase 522GW front & rear dashcams

I was not shocked when I saw they are only having one diesel unit but was shocked to see the relatively low power petrol units

No 2.0 diesel, just a pathetic 1.5! Looks like this will be my first and last Insignia

The rear looks to much like the passant cc.

            I'm really not a fan

I honestly don't think the body re-style is a huge departure from the current model, and the equipment mentioned in the article (blind spot assistance, rear camera with cross traffic warning etc) is already available as options - in fact, mine had those options when I bought it.

Yeah I agree but I'm not a huge fan of the current body I do much prefer the face lift.

I would like to see one in this shape as a VXR. I think that could look nice

According to bumph sent to me by Vauxhall there should be an electric version in their offering. No sign though.

What annoys me about the range of petrol engines is you can't choose a model and get the engine you prefer. Like in my case. I bought the SRi Nav but my only choice of petrol engines were the 1.5t 140ps or 165ps. The 2.0t was reserved for the Elite.

Now it turned out the 1.5t 165ps is a decent engine with plenty of punch but I suspect the new offering in the form of a 3 cylinder 1.4t 145ps is going to be the only option in all models except the Elite and GSi.
2017 Vauxhall Insignia Grand Sport Sri Nav 1.5 (165ps) Turbo petrol in Lava Red - Keyless entry and start - 18” powder coated alloy wheels - Front fog lights - Tinted rear windows - Aluminium sports pedals - Ambient interior led lighting - Front sports seats with driver’s AGR - Front and rear parking assist - Active emergency braking - Forward collision assist - Front pedestrian alert - Traffic sign recognition - Lane keep assist - Cruise control - Speed warning and limiter - Voice recognition - Bluetooth - Duel zone climate control - Front and rear electric windows - High beam assist - Auto lights - Auto wipers - OnStar connection - Wifi hotspot - 8” colour touchscreen Navi 900 incorporating AA/ACP and DAB

And they will all be 4wd, apparently!

it says 4 new engines,.. hopefully the 2.0D will still be available, just not new. Surely the 2.0D is the best seller in the car throughout?

Quite like the looks but a 9-speed auto box.......
and the diesel engine is less economical than my 2L

i've said before to others that the new tax rates mean the larger cars that used to be more polluting will now benefit as they can get away with more pollution and less MPG for a more friendly tax rate, seems a backwards step to me
