So i upgraded my phone to the iphone 12 as my contract was due for renewal, i received my new phone from EE yesterday and swapped my sim and fired it up, everything working fine but no signal/service, called tech support and was told it will need to activate with the new plan ect, give it 3 hours and your good to go, ok i thought that sounds fair enough. Well I left it till this morning and still no service, called tech support at 8am and after a bit of faf they decided to check my MEMI no. to find my phone was black listed/stolen, it seems that over christmas a truck of new iphones had been stolen and a list of them were then black listed. I have now had this removed and i'm waiting for the phone to kick in again, fingers crossed.
So if youve had a new phone from EE and its not working then ask them to check its not black listed as it may be one they have marked and hopefully that will sort the issue. hope this helps others if your having problems.
