  • Squealing from the rear wheels

    Hi all

I am getting squealing from the rear wheels think it's the rear passenger's side but just don't know .
Comes at slow moving speeds like then goes away at higher speeds . When at slower speeds I pressed my brake and the noise stopped .

When she passed her mot in Sept there was an advisory brake disc worn ,pitted,or scored but not seriously weakened could this be it ?

Any test I could do ?

    Thanks

If you had an advisory in Sept,I would put new discs and pads on to be honest.

brake pads will squeal when worn, they have a tuning fork on the pad that clips the disc when the pad is low - might be this. (doesn't squeal when you apply the brakes)

            No it stops .
Its not a constant squeal feels like after it heats up a bit then i can hear it .
If its a bearing i would hear it grinding but i had a advisory on my last MOT about a pitted worn but not weakened . Brakes are getting done at the end of the month .

as pads get low, you get an intermittent squeak,... as the pads wear even lower, the squeak intensifies. Low pads is not a constant squeal. When you apply the brake pedal, the squeak will stop, and return when driving normally (not braking)
