that's what happened up here in Glasgow for CRAP26

used electric cars to ferry the VIP's from Gleneagles to Glasgow.....then hired diesel generated electric charging stations to charge the cars......fekkin halfwits

My ex wife use to have a Diesel Generator for her electric powered friend called "BOB "
The neighbours always knew when she was frisky.
she used to crank it up in the back garden and clouds of black smoke coming out of its exhaust, revving its nuts off .

If the bus depot is away from the city centre, at least it Improves air quality in within the city. Must be more expensive to feed a generator than plug into the grid though.

Why is it contradictory if local air quality within conurbations is improved by producing those emissions elsewhere? It's net zero (ish) but if the generator is producing emissions where few will breathe the particulates its a benefit overall to people.

Sure, it would be better if the bus was plugged into the grid where a proportion of the energy is produced from renewable sources, but I can still see this as a small positive overall when compared with diesel emissions in populated areas.
