I don't see what can be improved by the software update, more likely the firmware is corrupt

Firmware is still software so an update could update the firmware, overwriting buggy or corrupt versions.

      today's trick....

car was parked in the road... started it and the parking sensors were going off, si drove forward about 10 feet, still going off... drove bit more... still going off, and the car symbol was not in the dash display, so i switched the engine off... and the bloody beeping was still going !!!!!!!!!!!

switched the engine back on and they stopped........... i swear my car is possessed

I had exactly this last Thursday. Backed into the drive to the point of the first beeps, switched off and they continued. Tried ignition on and off but no difference so tried wiping the sensors no difference just locked up and went indoors! When I checked 5 mins later it had stopped.

Mine is 59 plate Elite though, not a facelift.
