Being a new member here I would also like to upgrade mine just for the fact that the sound quailty isn't great, I want better quality sound with more volume and much better bass. I have just bought a 2014 facelift that already has the all singing, all dancing 8" display with satnav, DAB etc but really don't want to go down the android route, I've always gone for Kenwood or Pioneer on previous cars with speaker and amp upgrades. Adroid head units are ok for features but very poor in the sound quality department.

Did you just do the front door speakers? I would want to replace all of them, tweeters as well. I fitted 2 way Hertz component speakers in my Focus so would probably look at the same for my Insignia.

Recently upgraded my cars audio, with a sub, 4x new speakers front and back + tweeters in the A pillars, all amplified. Trouble is, that without soundproofing the doors lots of bass will be unpleasant, as the plastic door cards will rattle, especially at the window switches (which I did rectify by inserting some foam in between the gaps). Now that my low frequencies are playing through the sub, my door speakers don't have to work that hard, only going to 80hz, so I don't have any rattles no more.
