Hi everyone and happy new year.
I have a 2013 insignia elite, 2.0 cdti. It is a sports tourer with a power boot.
I had an issue with the boot ecu where water had seeped in causing a malfunction. I had since rectified this and plugged the leaking holes
The boot worked fine until recently, water had seeped in again, so I did the usual removal of ecu and drying it out. This time, however, when the ecu has been reconnected the boot opens about an inch, makes a whirring noise and doesn't do anything else. When I press the key Fob again the boot opens another couple of inches and stops. Basically, every time I press the Fob the boot opens a couple of inches until it is finally fully open.
When I comes to closing the boot I can only do it manually as it won't go down. If I try and open the boot manually it seems to stick on the strut on the offside, I'm not sure if this is because of a pressure drop?
So.....
1. Is this a symptom of the ecu?
2. Is it a symptom of the power strut not having enough pressure to raise the boot?
3. Could it be an issue with the motor?
4. Is there a height sensor which has malfunctioned?
I have also recently changed the battery on my car
Many thanks in anticipation of your help
