Do you know what, there was once a garage near us ( and I use the word WAS )
that if you took your car in there with a EML then they would replace the battery before doing anything else !
            And you know what ?
On all these occasions it was not the battery
I got stung and so did my son
            And others we know!
I've only had one occasion where my dashboard light up light a Christmas tree
And that was when my alternator went, that I can understand, because the battery is being drained and the alternator is not able to maintain a constant voltage.
Thats when the ECM will go into panic mode!

This exactly what I mean Howy.

Juniors time served with vauxhall and now running his own succesful garage and he's never heard of a flat battery putting any vauxhall into limp mode.

I've worked with cars all my days and it's the first I've heard of this too.
