  • Battery light stays on when idling

Had this problem so changed alternator and battery. Been ok for a few days and it’s doing it again. Only does it when I have no heating fans and no radio and just drl lights on. The charging volts drop to 12.1. Don’t know what to do.

Has your car got stop/start? If it has, did you get the correct AGM battery??

            Hmmmm a weird one buddy.
as the light being on points to the battery or alternator.

I'd get it to someone who knows how to use a diagnostic machine as throwing parts at it is a waste of money.

At least if its diagnosed, then you'll get it fixed.

and 100 amp seems low considering the stuff that's in an insignia.

I have a cdti 127bhp diesel. So this alternator was matched to specification. Could it possibly be a battery sensor fuse?

You coukd try the BSF....but best to get it onto a diagnostic mate.

Weird when the one that was taken off is the one in the picture. Some of the older insignias have the 100amp which is what mine has. Is yours a 2010 model?

I don't think anyone anyone can figure out what vauxhall does in the factory.

but I'd definitely get a diagnostic done instead of throwing money at it
