Stereo stopped working this morning 09 insignia

My stereo stopped working this morning, its a cdc 400 model, have checked the fuses referenced in the manual and they seem good, got to the point i was scratching my head so tested every single fuse in the front engine compartment and the one in the glove box, all fine, i found a video on reddit that seems to show the exact same issue

the screen kind of flickers for a second when pressing power button or info button, anyone else had this and know of a fix?

Have you tried disconnecting the battery for half an hour?
not saying it will work but you have nothing more to loose at the moment

Have even just pulled the whole stereo out and double checked everything was plugged in ok, baffled to say the least

Got in yesterday morning and it started working again, real odd

It did it again yesterday, how would I go about this software update? Is it a main dealer job?

I don't know much but I thaught the unit you have was not enabled to be updated ,it's just a basic head unit with a. Orange display.
maybe plasma can give you some honest advice.

I'm half debating saving some money to one side and just updating it to one of those android swap head units at some point in the future, but would like to just keep this one working for now

Well you're from Liverpool and iirc, that's the home of IceBox audio bud... they'd be able to help you with an android unit...

If you were from wick ,you would probably know somone who knows someone who could get hold of a android unit no questions asked for a gram of zip and 2 cans of stella.

So I have plugged in my OP-com China clone unit from my laptop and I'm getting an error for the stereo, it is showing U0184-00 so going to have to have a google an see what's going on with it, I have tried to connect via body/radio/chime alarm control module and that refuses to connect too

Lost communication with radio that's what that code means .
i wouldn't be using opcom china clobber ive known it to brick ECU'S .
and I once knew someone who's car started to smoke from the obd2 port due to China clodhoppers.

Opcom are utter shite.

They are OK if we're back in 2000 and running a Vectra B.

They won't do anything for you except kill a car as already been mentioned.
