  • Intermittent TPMS Error

    Hi guys,

Getting a random TPMS error intermittently. Mainly happens when on a motorway run.

Out of nowhere, the TPMS error message flashes up and the light starts blinking, it always points to passenger rear wheel and it loses the readings. Then after about 5 mins of continued driving, it finds itself again and the reading comes back on and the error goes away.

Initially I thought it was a faulty sensor but I changed my wheels this week and the exact same fault happens with these wheels too and on the same corner.

Any help, guidance and advice appreciated.

    Thanks.

      Hi,
Had the exact same problem as you describe, same corner, different wheels, mostly motorway driving after changing lanes, driving over the cats eyes, never found a solution, figured it was the sudden shock to the sensor throwing it off, sorry I don't have a solution for you, but your not alone with this

Yes, I remember when I pulled one out of a bumper I bought some time ago and then sold the unit. Wish I'd kept it now.

Do they need coding to the car?

No but the sensors need to be trained to the replacement box, i too had a similar issues, mine turned out to be low batteries in the sensors, if you wait long enough they go flat and problem solved untill you go for mot at least
