    Yup they are now a legal requirement for all modern diesels. Poxy, useless, expensive things that cost far too much money to replace & all they do is basically strangle the car but you need it there. The internals 'can' be removed but if this is spotted then prepare to be spanked with a massive fine

    All modern diesels are fitted with dpf to further lower carbon and nos emission. First there is EGR then DPF and now Ad blue on some cars. Look after the EGR & DPF as one breaks it can break the other. Also regular checks on engine oil level. If you don't do the mileage consider getting a petrol turbo.
