so it seems i have a boost problem
the second the temp needle moves off the zero mark i lose all boost
changed the pipe and solenoid and had no effect
so i take it to vauxhall to get it plugged and and checked
they have found the problem seems its the EGR cooler housing
there is vacuum going in but nothing coming out
so it needs replacing at this point i was interested
so i asked for a quote to replace it
parts and labour 1999 inc vat

autovaux'ed the part 158 where do vauxhall get off charging that amount really :/
so going to give it an EGR, map, maf and throttle body cleaning
and change this cooler housing see if i cant get my boost back
anyone have any tips or tricks etc
its a 60 plate preface CDTI SE 130

You may we’ll benefit from a hydro carbon clean service, costs around 100 and clean a lot of the carbon build up restoring power, economy ect, some think it’s voodoo but check it out on YouTube and decide for yourself. Hope it gets sorted pal.

          Ok hold on tight !
first code P0299 = turbocharger / supercharger A underboost condition
as the diagnosis explains there is or has been an underboost condition ,because the turbo on thease have a VNT system ( variable nozzle turbine ) which throw out a series of arms as the turbo spools up ,so squeezing the amount of charged air ,the arms can get stuck in either open or closed position, there movement is regulated by a turbo wastegate actuator ,sometimes the arm can get stuck on the actuator or not move freely.
          https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321780899...&ul_noapp=true
see the link and it shows you a generic image
see the rod that goes inside the dome ?
get some penetration spray and lub the arm ,it should move freely up and down .
also purchased some VNT spray and follow the instructions.
code 2 P062E =Fuel injector driver circuit performance bank 2
what that means is that the ECU has noted a performance issue with the fuel injector circuit on bank 2 ( bank 2 is the bank without cylinder number 1 )
the ECU monitors the feedback resistance on the fuel injector circuit ( 3 wire )
resistance too high ECU picks it up .
coukd be faulty injector electrical plug , faulty injector, bad ECU .
          but don't panic !
code 3 P0271 =cylinder number 4 injector circuit too high
means injector 4 is where the problem lies in code 2
could be bad wiring harness from ECU
electrical plug on injector 4 is bad ( pins corroded )
          bad or blocked injector .
          sounds confusing?
i think the dealer priced up for a turbo or some big fish plus diagnostic work or were going to throw every part known to man to cure it .( parts roulette)
start with code 1 issues and work from there
I don't know what year your insignia is but if it's Pre 2014 then get a copy of opcom as a diagnostic tool .
