  • Gearbox info

Just won this on eBay after looking for a long time for an estate and got it cheap £650 considering it’s just had a £900 flywheel and clutch replacement by Kevin Albert Williams https://youtu.be/8QBWZChm4A4
gearbox is knackered but I do have a 1.9 vectra f40 box and wondering if that will fit

    If not I’ve found a insignia box with 16000 miles,fitting isn’t a problem as I work for a garage

From those pictures it's impossible to know which engine is in it apart from being a diesel. So could be an F40 or m32.

Its a 158 bhp so should be a f40 .its a rampant thing that the gearbox has gone wrong.

Sorry, still not enough info as both gearboxes are used on the 2 liter. Only the 160 hp has the F40 in this generation.

by the reg number it comes up as a 158 bhp unit ,so that in my mind equates to 160 .there abouts.

The gearboxes can be identified by their end casing if that helps, https://insignia-drivers.uk/forum/in...ge3#post287337

But I wouldn't know if the f40 from a vectra would fit the Insignia, the likes of Courtney or Thorney who uprate them would probably have the answer?
