  • DPF issues with Insignia 2011

Hello everyone, hope you guys are doing well.

I have an Insignia 2011, currently on 119303 miles (192k kilometers), everything has been going fine with the car overall no issues whatsoever. Last month approximately I had to replace my MAF sensor and the boost pipe because the car lost a lot of the power because of the boost pipe which had splits on it, after replacing the boost pipe the service tried to put the car on regeneration with their laptop which they had to stop at around 40-50 % because they told me that these models of the vehicle have a sensitive engine and it might blow up. They suggested me to drive on the highway, 15 minutes on 3.5k RPM in hope that the DPF get cleared up and the cars gets in good shape. It did work and the car got back the power and the acceleration, although now after 1 month the car is still struggling with power and really slow acceleration, I had it for a check today and it gave fault errors on DPF and DPF sensor meaning that the DPF was so full that the sensor could not read the values (that's what the mechanic said). They suggested me to get the DPF cleaned or get it removed (it's easy where I live, not in UK) although he suggested that it's not a good idea to take the car on the highway and try to drive with high RPM to get it cleaned.

I believe you guys are more experienced here so I'm hoping that you can suggest me what I should do in this case and also my question is, is it dangerous if I try to get it cleaned up in the highway?

    Bless you!

Hello what are the actual codes the garage are getting..?
you really need to check the oil level and smell of the oil .,if the oil level is higher than max and smells of diesel then you need to replace oil and filter toot sweet
its really all i can say till you have the proper codes. Also if you do a active regen it will only bring the saturation level down to 75% then you have to do a passive regen to bring the saturation level down to below 30% say depending on age of the DPF
until we have the codes then we are guessing. With advice .

      Hi there,

You may want to run some DPF cleaner the the filter and get everything reset.
      pressure sensor etc.

I know diesels are terrible for clogging up DPF when you've had a split boost pipe.
shouldnt drive them with a boost leak at all if it can be helped.
and depending on how many miles you put on it with the split, your DPF will be clogged.
