  • 2016 insignia a with B20DTH and blown inter cooler hose

Hi all. I have looked through previous topics and can see this is a Colton issue, but yesterday I was on the way back from holiday and towing my caravan when I heard a pop and sudden loss of power. I managed to limp the car to a lay-by and when checking the engine o was initially worried the turbo had gone, but there was no smoke. After looking further I noticed the large pipe to the right of the engine had become detached from the engine (intercooler pipe) and the strange connector had cracked so could not be reconnected. Thankfully I had breakdown cover so they managed to do a temporary fix so o could get home. I have contacted Vauxhall for a price and yes nearly £200 and they confirmed it’s a common issue. When looking myself there seems to be a pop I can buy, but it looks different and seems to have a bracket half way along. Mine does not have that and is one long pipe without any other clips tor brackets. I don’t have an issue buying the pipe from Vauxhall, but think that’s expensive, but also will this not just happen again. And advice from people that have experienced this would be appreciated. Also is the pipe something that can be done by oursleves?

This is such a common problem its a joke, they are just badly designed. There's a few threads on here, the ones from these guys are apparently good - https://turborury.pl/350-insignia?Su...&id_currency=3

They are also available through Amazon

This is what I've got on mine as a preventative measure incase it popped, i noticed oil drips from the underside of the pipe....just chop the end of the pipe off and slide this over....

        Hi all.

I initially tired biting the bullet and getting an original from the stealer, not a chance. All on back order and you have to pay up front first before they will even place and order, and this could be weeks away.

I ended up giving this a go

        2.0 CDTI (68), Year of Construction 11.2014 - 03.2017, 1956 ccm, 170 hp. 2.0 CDTI 4x4 (68), Year of Construction 11.2014 - 03.2017, 1956 ccm, 170 hp. 2.0 CDTI (69), Year of Construction 11.2014 - 03.2017, 1956 ccm, 170 hp.

Yet to fit it so only time will tell. Just hope it's not junk but initially seems ok.
