Thanks it's sounding like controller issue to me unless you think the solinoid being faulty could cause it?

Take the control unit off and make sure all pins are straight and not corroded.
We had someone on my forum with corrosion and it was affecting all manner of things.

I gave it all a clean with electrical contact cleaner when I had it off, I didn't check the pins where bent or not though

So im confused I can hear the pump every 18 to 20 seconds I belive thats normal, but the car says the clutch has malfunctioned, I can manually command the valves solinoid so I must be communicating with the ecu if the haldex

When I say I can hear the pump it's loud I'll try upload a recording
            https://1drv.ms/u/s!AkFZn4YiG6BvpJYa_NX9o139nB_new

That's a 1 drive link to a recording the noise starts about 10 seconds in, I think that's 2 loud could my pump not be producing enough pressure?

Have you re-checked the level in the haldex unit just to make sure it's not loosing fluid.

is it worth splitting the ecu to check for internal corrosion? what would you seal it back up with after

I would not split it because you could damage it in trying to split it .
also if you found internal damage then it's not going to be repairable.
its either one of 2 items.
                    the solenoid pump
                    of tye clutch pack itself.
if the pump is operating on its own then that's weird Because it should operate to build up pressure within the clutch pack when it detects slipping from the rear wheels.

                    • It comes on for a few seconds every 20 seconds I think it's trying to build the pressure but can't with the solinoid being stuck, but i dont think the pump should be that loud either, i can hear it driving down the road,

I'm no longer rushing it as the car is driving fine now but no rear drive,

the car feels so smooth better then when I bought it, the back must have been bad for Long time as even gear changes seem smoother and the cars acceleration seems more instant,

                            • Did your car start to do a regen then come up with the SVS message? Mine done that last time I needed to relearn the dpf pressure sensor. What was the burning smell?

                              • I'm not sure about the regen, aa guy found the steering colum and exhaust covered in oil and the bottom of engine but can't see the leak, he sprayed it all off with brake clean ran the car and no leak so he isn't sure, the pipe for the sensor had collapsed again not sure why, he had to relearn the sensor to remove the code,
