    Hi all

So turned ignition to position 1
Grounded one side of multometer and took some voltage readings with the plug disconnected

there are 5 wires i got

    12.21 v
    12.21 v
    5v
    0v
    0v

Obviously it's hard without wiring diagram but I wasn't expected to find two wires at 12v and I noticed they both read exactly the same

This has me thinking one of these is signal and it's a dead short to the main 12 v supply

    Any thoughts on this idea?

Ive just had a look in my haynes manual and the wiring diagram is pretty basic and doesnt cover the EGR valve.

Im only guessing but 1 of the 12v would be for power, The other 12v might be to open it, or close it. The 5v might just be the signal or linked to the Fault code system and the other 2 that are 0v could be waiting for a signal from other sensors/ soleniod that also use/ control the EGR valve?

Like i said, just a guess and probably utter rubbsih

Thanks for looking mate gonna get on the ringer to a mechanic. It's impossible to do much in absence of proper schematics and also conscious of applying power and frying ecu or something during a test

Will let yous know what they say as always incase helpful for future ref

Interesting will watch this in full later froma quick look pin out doesn't say voltages but looks possible 2 12 v supply is normal
