  • What's this piece for?

I am fitting side skirts soon and wanted to know if this piece should be drilled through or left undrilled, ie. What is the purpose of this piece and is it important?

I've circled the approximate area, could be a bit left or right actually of the circled bit on the side view...

Cover for my jack, as in where the jack should sit when raising the car?

So I'm wanting to get side skirts fitted with self tapping screws, like in the pic attached, and they'll be going over this I think...

is there no other jack point?

You could invest in a trolley jack and leave the cover on,I never use the std jack ,hate them, trolley jack much better.

I use the standard supplied scissor jack but I dont remove those bits. The skirts don't get in the way, the jack points are further in. I have never removed them.
