    I see no evidence of resistors and doubt very much they'll be error free assuming you have a year that would cause errors anyway

                They should be. Be careful using pliers, wrap a cloth round the bulb. To be honest they should just pull out though.

                        Think the insignia is a different canbus system plus the lights you mentioned aren't on canbus for 2011 insignia so maybe the Mondeo Is the same

                            Maybe bit of black tape around the edges will sort it?

                              Touch up paint around the edge then? I'm guessing the issue it that by being able to see the edge of the bulb you'll get glare?
