Battery stop start tech.

I've noticed that my stop start system has not functioned in the last year. My question is, should I replace the battery, or just keep plodding on, the car always starts well, other than the stop start not working, is trouble free.

I’d say leave it. It’s a royal P.I.T.A. I turn mine off in my van every single time.

it could just be down to battery charge and consumption draw from your ancillaries for it to be reason why it’s not working

There's probably a list as long as your arm that dictates if the system kicks in or not. I turn it off every time I start the car, my wife however does not. There is also no way it doesn't add extra wear and tear to the components either. If everything is OK I would leave it, you never know one day it might surprise you and randomly work again!

I can count on one hand how many times my stop start has worked in the last 6 and a half years.
The only time is worked was when I was recovering from COVID, the battery went flat and my laddie replaced it with a new yuasa agm.....that was it.
So, that was February 2021 and it's never worked since.

Mine hasn't worked since I had to change the battery, not really bothered if it works or not, I've heard it can be an absolute pain in the ass to get running properly again...something to do with a small fuse / relay that's fitted on one of the battery leads that tends to blow when you change batteries.. so sod it

Agree with all the above,SS was invented by some smug nincompoop.
if you want to stop your car then just switch it off ,I do with mine if at level crossing gates because it saves albertross,s ,but that's my bit for the enviroment .
minemhas worked about 10 times in 3 years and every time it dose it scares the flipping Jesus out of me because I think there's something wrong with the car .
