  • Seat weight sensor

Mornin all.anyone ever changed one of these on a vxr seat?,just aint sure if its actually that at fault or the buckle why the seat belt chime ain’t working.

It would most probably be the buckle,
The sensor is only fitted to the passenger seat,
If the sensor was at fault the chime would be going off all the time.
Easy enough to check, disconnect the buckle and get a multimeter, with the seat belt unplugged should show open circuit then when connected should show continuity

is it the drivers or passenger seat
is the light on the dash panel lighting up to tell you to buckle up ?

Did you look under the seat to see if the wires are there , the only thing I can think of is that someone has disconnected the seat occupancy wires .
they should be towards the back of the seat bottom underneath.

I don't know how it works to be honest, but could it be that the passenger airbag has been turned to off for a childseat to be fitted. Would that affect it?

Just a thought, but it's rarely that easy is it.

Nope.anyway just been out and tested the buckle with multimeter, and getting no reading either with belt clipped in it not,so looks like thats the culprit.

T50 bit and 45nm torque, probably the easiest thing to change on the seat

                            only difference was the length,
Passenger seats with height adjust were slightly longer than ones without height adjust.

Would the airbag light be on if this was faulty?
