This thread... post number 70 onwards...

Hello again Guys, I know it's been a while... but life does get in the way, anywhooo... I've just bought an Insignia Grand sport, my original 11 plate 'first gen' Insignia has just passed 108 thousand miles, and despite her still running perfectly, we needed a ULEZ compliant car for our frequent trips to Kent... my new car

Does it depend on the Insignia model?
Have you gone back to your original LEDs then?

      I'll try fitting mine tomorrow.
I've no idea how I'll fare with the main bulbs as the access looks so restricted and I've got big hands!

I fitted cheap cancellors from ebay, dead link now - the low beam needs cancellors (resistors) but the high beam doesn't. Had bulb warning one every 2 or 3 months but was ok with that.

I swapped to higher resistors today too. They are hot, but that should be fine? I place the heatsink so that it does't touch any cables to melt them etc. But may need to switch back if it's dangerous. These are the one that works, but get hot:

LED Fog Lights. Installing a load resistor between the LED bulb and the power source can eliminate these errors. The load resistor would increase the current draw to a level that the car would not detect any "error".

They will get hot and have to really be mounted on a non combustible surface.
Mine stopped the error.but a couple of months later the error came back.i took a look and found the wire into the resistor had melted and come away.
Thease are as cheap as chips and have the same build quality.

That means I may need to wire them outside, so that the heatsink is not melting any cables. Otherwise need to find different resistors or switch back to the old one which gives error but don't get hot.

That's what I found in the end.
I ant got a insignia.but was lucky I found a space in the inner wings.( Metal) so we'll away from anything combustible.

Has anyone changed from the xenon d3s bulbs to led ? I bought 55w d3s and they are still like candles !

If you come up with any solutions for this please post it up as although my original resistors throw up the error code every once in a while which doesn't really bother me, I'd be interested in stopping it for fear of it popping up when it's having an MOT and getting a fail..

Did you noticed some radio interference with this F2 LEDs?
Am I right? When you get broken bulb error in dashboard, LEDs still working? (Insignia don't cut power to headlamps when shows this error)

                    • No radio interference, still using the same setup and no errors etc and no cable damage from heat as the resistors heatsinks are not touching any wires, the just sit a bit over other cables inside the compartment where LEDs are installed.

                      • I bought F2, but they send xstorm x6 360 - because F2 are out of stock.
So I mounted this xstorm, they have nice cut off line but interference my radio ;/ not recomend

                          • Thanks for all the info i could find here.
i managed to install the Led Bulbs (F2 H7 ones) and they are amazing!

I first ordered from a dutch site the F2 ones but those were fake eventually i ordered the F2 from Ali and they were the same as shown in this Topic. So i decided to put the fake ones as High Beam.

And boy o boy all of them are amazing!

Just its really a pain in the ass to install them!

                            NeverTheless thank you all!
