  • interior lights don't come on

After some help. Took advantage of the lovely weather yesterday and cleaned my car. Now my interior lights don't come on when I unlock the car or open the doors, however they work when the rocker switch is operated. Any ideas as to why?

Are you sure you have the rocker switch in the correct position? I can't remember the switch in the insignia A now but doesn't it have 3 positions? On, off and on with open doors?

Hi and thanks for getting in touch. Yes it does have 3 positions, the centre one being on when doors are open. It is set for that but instead I have a little red light just in front of the rocker switch which wasn't there before. I wouldn't mind but didn't touch the switch when I cleaned the car.

Hi there, and thanks for your reply. I have one on the rear courtesy light cluster too, but that one isn't lit and the lights work. I have gone through all my settings innit is really bugging me

Just make sure the switch itself has not become overheated when you were cleaning the car yesterday .
if you see what I mean .
i think those switches have copper contacts and can loose contact ,if the copper gets a bit over heated .
              copper is very thin .
remove the interior light fittings and see if you can clean up the contacts with a bit of emery paper or wire wool .
