  • Water ingress bulbs blown

The lamps are not blown, the j13 was only recently changed.

I have water in passenger headlight, now main lamp and cornering lamp has stopped working.

I presume it's the ballast below the headlight that is now wet and Will need to be replaced.

The led strip parking light is the only one in the headlamp working.

Can anyone confirm if this works without a functioning ballast?
Before I order one and rip apart the bumper

Ballast is for main light(xenon) not for corner light. But both share modul, ie. blown corner light show "service afl".
You have indicator in headlight so check if it is working, it is independet from afl...
Worst case, dead ballast from water killed modul.

Ok, main headlight drivers is working except for the turning light (corner light).

On the passenger side, the led parking light strip is working and indicator works.

Main headlight is not working and corner light isn't working.

So no corner light on either side, but no warning popping up on dash, only says to check passenger dip beam.

        Fuses are ok.

        What's next?

When you say cornering light have you got AFL system on your car ( active forward lighting)
Is yours an elite spec car ?
If so headlight and main beam are the same bulb .there's a shutter in the headlight that either opens or closes as either dipped or main beam are wanted .
If you have had water in the headlight it may of blowen the bulb .

Yea I have that AFL system.
hopefully it's just the main bulb.

I dried it out with a hair dryer, but will have to remove headlight to seal properly.

Why would the AFL lamps stop working with no warning on the dash, I changed one of them last week, might get fresh bulbs for them and the headlight and see how it goes.

Swapp the good bulb to the other side and see if that cures it then you will know if it's just a bulb or ballast .
Have you got the headlight control knob on auto setting?

I have a spare bulb I'll try tomorrow.

I've been switching to manual to check.

Swapped out the ballast on the headlight and all is working again, fault keeps coming up because I used a knockoff ballast I think.
Siliconed around the headlight and also changed the radiator mounts as they were in bits.
