  • Insignia G09 A20DTH - planning big service

    Hi all,
My insignia is from 2010 and has 150k km (+/-). Mileage is not an issue, rather the years)
I'm slowly preparing for big service when oil change is due. What should I consider changing to have long and happy time with the car?
My plan for now: all filters, oil pump seal ring, piston bearing examination, possibly oil pump seals, injectors cleaning if additive won't resolve minor issue.
    What else?

    Thanks!

If you've had it a while and it's served well, keep using the stuff your already putting in it.
it must be ok if your still plodding on without any issues

Previous owner didn't serv it well and I'm a bit worried about washers, hoses, etc.

When oil change is due ????? .
Thats not a very good quote there .
You dont rely on the car to tell you.you should at least be doing it twice a year if the service intervals are say 10,000 then half it ( 5000 mile intervals.)
If you have never had a diesel before then regular cleaning of the MAP,MAF,EGR , and throttle body.
If no history then cam belt water pump tensioners idlers and auxiliary belt and tensioner and idlers .
All filters all fluids .( Inc transmission with a proper flush.takes about 4 flushes to complete)
Brake and suspension check on ramp .
And you say you have a problem.well without proper diagnosis then you don't know what that problem is.
But getting a good quality code reader can tell you a lot if you know how to use it.
You could go the full hog and replace every hose and washer, but no one has a crystal ball .
Things like starter motor.relays battery fuses .can crop up any time.
        It's your money your spending.
        Spend it wisely.
Things like bearing caps will have signs of wear if in doubt then you replace them then you start going into the realms of crank shaft then that will require balancing and so will the flywheel and such depends on if manual or auto.
And the list goes on .

Oil + filter, air filters changed 2k ago. Replaced MAP and fuel pressure valve, waste gate valve, cleaned MAF. EGR was changed by previous owner and I'm thinking about installing restriction plate.
Problem I'm saying took 8+ pages on separate thread - rough idling when its warm outside and in that case injector cleaning helped.
Timing+ w.p. done 4 years ago, i.e. need to change as well. Aux - yes, probably also.
