snap drew, clean mine over two day period inc a clay bar session, with a wash & wax after todays excursion ( with a fail), with the auto polar blast wash & polar seal, good gear , and yes when you start with the wheels its kinda hard not to keep up to them !, also used some of the gear i got today from bliss !! away for 5 days from tomoz so it will be back to black when i return!
Little update tyres were due for replacement. The Fulda Sportcontrol 2s I had on have now gone. Fronts lasted 19k miles and the rears an impressive 26k miles. The wear was even, they stayed in balance and apart from some slight cracking at the bottom of the tread blocks I thought they were pretty good. I had one notable emergency manouevre to perform when a car that pulled up at a junction on my nearside then decided to set off again as I was passing, the Insignia did a pretty impressive moose test. It also performed well towing.
I am now trying some Nexen nfera su1 in the same size as before 255/35r20. I know they may not be to everyones taste but I have used them since 2005 on the Vec C n6000 and Insignia A n8000 and never had any issues in over 250k miles. I couldn't find the Fuldas in the same 68db as I had before but these are and so far I am pretty sure they are quieter and track very well. They also have decent rim protection. At £118 each they are also a bit cheaper than the Fulda at £129
Anyway that's the boring info bit done here's some pics....
I ran a set of Nexen N8000's on my Vectra and couldn't fault them. The Nfera's are even better by all accounts. I opted for Goodyear Eagle F1's all round recently on my current Insignia 'B, and they are great, particularly with grip and braking. At £2 a corner more than Hankooks it was a no-brainer.
Cheers, like yours, they just look good when they they're clean and tidy. I'm not into modding so other than refurbing the wheels it's as it came.
Thanks, I love the boot space I have. I know it might sound simple but I play airsoft and it is nice to be able to load my guns and gear in without having to drop any back seat's or putting it in the boot and on the back seat's as my 320D isn't able to drop the back seat's.
The only things I have planned for mine is to get Plasma at some point when I get the funds together to put a reverse camera on and upgrade to the 2.5 hmi so I can have Android Auto / Car Play. Get the wheels refurbished. Put some wind deflectors on and the rear bumper scrape protector.
Around 47k miles now and I thought I had better have a look at the MAP sensor. Car is driving fine no issues, no lights on dash, no stored codes but I have never looked at one of these and I have seen some pretty grotty pictures of them all choked up with crud.
checking it and cleaning it couldn't have been simpler really just a 10 min job. I used intake/carb cleaner and a couple of squirts and the carbon just fell away, I lightly brushed the plastic cage to get it as clean as possible. It didn't look too bad to be fair but it's shiny now.
Spent some time getting the car ready for winter today. Had all the wheels off and treated all the suspension arms, linkages, joints, subframes front and rear, struts, shocks, springs, towbar attachment etc. with Lanoguard. I was quite pleased with how everything was looking since I last ventured under there with the spray.
Only one photo because after one corner I was just about up to the eyes!
Anyway found this bugger in the nearside front. Pulled it out but no hiss (or bubbles) so I may have caught it in time. I have kept the wheel off while I keep an eye on the pressure and decide whether to visit the tyre fitter. Tread is about 1/2 worn so not sure! What do you think?
