Here in the cold of Norway mine always runs on 1000 rpm. Sounds like a tractor whole winter. Only after driving it for 30 minutes that is calms down on idle. Even with frequent battery charges. Guess these cars uses a lot of power since it always on high idle....

Don't understand why these glow plugs are so hard to come by.
I work at the biggest car part storage in Norway and these plugs haven't been in stock for over 1 year.
Some kind of conspiracy to get the diesel cars off the road

When you are driving down hill with minimal throttle the engine loses heat. Its normal on efficient engines....

With limited knowledge and equipment you are just going in circles with this. You need somebody that can read and understand the values from the engine data.
Do you have any Bosch Car Service nearby or anyone that has a good reputation in car diagnostics?

What about your local Opel dealer? They should be able to guide you in some way....

Has there been considered that this is a throttle pedal problem? If the pedal is "sticking" after you let go it should be an easy check with diagnostic equipment....

Get somebody with a smoke machine to hook it up to the intake system. There is probably a leak somewhere....

If this has blind spot monitor system the first i would try is to disconnect the control units. These are located on the inside of the rear bumper. They sit out in the open so they get sprayed with crap from the rear wheels constantly. Water ingress and heavy corrosion is common....

It's extremely tight and you can barely see bolt closest to the engine block. I had to call a friend with tiny fingers when i replaced it on my mothers car.
I suggest to replace the water pump at the same time. Then you can take the whole assembly apart and get a lot better access.

Last summer i had to take apart the boot lid do to fix the wire loom for the license plate lamps. My best guess is that there are more bad wiring in there. Can't seem to go 3 months without an issue that demands a whole day if taking things apart and digging into wires crazy...

Nothing is connected to the 230v outlet in the backseat.
In the middle of winter here so the conditions for taking apart half the interior isn't great.
Its nothing that can't wait until spring....

Genius fuse design
I'm really impressed by the fuse design on the Insignia.
Fuse nr 16 in the engine bay keeps blowing.
This fuse is for Vacuum pump, mass air flow meter, water in fuel sensor, DC transformer and backup camera.
So if i in theory have bad cables in the boot lid it will also cause...

Wow. Must wonder about the state of the inlet manifold and the EGR/EGR cooler.
No fault codes regarding egr flow or anything?...
