Fuel comes out of the fuel lines but I wouldn't say it spurted or was pressurised as such, more of a dribble on crank.

Thanks Lizzard. Not found anything obvious on the fuel lines. Had another look at the fuel filter, all good there, no crushes, seal seems fine, could hear all the air moving out of it as I primed it again after refitting.
