Thanks everyone for your input, I think RAC is way to expensive been honest, I'm only ever going to need someone coming out if something happens on motorway, everywhere else I can get the car recovered via friends ect. I use to pay for AA or RAC and never needed them, and even when my car wouldn't start...

started a topic Car Breakdown cover

    Car Breakdown cover

Looking for breakdown cover, after checking the usual contenders AA/RAC/Greenflag prices range from 67-130, I decided to have a look comparison site, lot of companies of names not know to me and prices starts from like 21 per year, most have excess and I believe this is on call out, now I never needed...

    replied to Money Pit...?
I think money pit is car that requires constant repairs, your car unfortunately as most done a fair bit and some components are tired so they need replacing, hardest thing to do is swallowing the costs, you need to ask your self this?

    1. Do I like the car?
    2. Can I buy something better...

I would take the car back to that garage and let them check, at the end of the day we don't know what they done and what brand have they fitted and as you didn't replace them your self it would be very hard to diagnose....

Don't forget to do my mod on them front interior lights once you fit LEDs, so reading lights come on when you open doors is well, lot brighter in dark days.

I think you right, looks like gates don't make kits for that engine when looking at there website, ECP list Dayco kit but you would have to check with them if is correct.

replied to Who is still on their original exhaust?
I had a look at mine other day, I was a bit surprised that I have muffler in middle but no back box on elite tourer, mine is split in 2 section, from dpf downpipe with flexi then joins just before middle box then one section all the way out.

Anyone know why no rear box maybe?

You need to ID which engine you have, if you oil filter is at top of engine on left then you have the later B20dth engine and cambelt don't run water pump, if you have the A20dth with oil filter location bottom left of engine then you need cambelt that runs water pump.

Talking from experience here, what they say at the time means nothing, some people see in front of there eyes once they had a chat with someone, not saying this will be your case but just be careful. As for renewal every policy is different when I went in to back of someone it cost me extra 50...

  • This can be sorted fairly easy but you will have to check the piston it self, lift the rubber and post pic of the piston, to explain in writing what you need to do takes longer then the job it self, where the rubber got stuck is right at the end and this twist the rubber as you push/turn piston back...
