Might be a long shot, but any chance the sticks you are using have some kind of 'security' software built into the actual motherboard ?
I had one years ago.. scandisk if I remember correctly, and even though the memory was reading empty the stick had some kind of security software built...

Unfortunately not buddy, they are a 'plate' design that you pop into a housing on the underside of the bonnet, not the nozzle system in the scuttle panel that the A had.....1 Photo

Finally got round to fitting these today, never had a job so easy, just pop a panel trim tool in one side and gently pop the old ones out, unclip the hoses, replace the new 'nozzle mount', and pop it back in...
on a plus note as well... did a trip to Kent and back this weekend, managed...2 Photos

Random Mis-fire query
Guys,
whilst driving down the M25 ..(56 mph at just under 2000 revs) to Kent last night I noticed the car was just beginning a re-gen..(had the app open on my phone to keep an eye on it),
however just as it started the re-gen the car started juddering almost like a misfire,...

I gave my 'old' one to the wife, already she's scratched the rear bumper and a door panel, I have to stop myself ripping her a new one for not looking after her..,...
