So a bit of an update re. The warning light and the cars mot......
It seems that as long as the lights satisfy the mot requirements (they still do their dance, main beam works, direction lights work and beam looks same as always against a wall) then its a pass!
    Whether the lights will adjust...

Thanks for getting back to me.
Its a friends code reader from work so dont have access to it. I'm going to try and get it through MOT as lights appear to be focused correctly and (fingers crossed) try again. Do you know what the socket size is? Thought it was a 10mm but nothing seems to fit p...

Ok, so I've got under car again and took a couple of pics.
the unit seems solid, no cracks on the body to suggest it's been dislodged but should there be a gap between the sensor and car structure?
The securing bolts are rusted solid....can't even get a correct socket size on it! What size...

Yeah, I'll give it a try though isn't it a sealed unit? I take its just held on by screws and no glue?
    Great lights but bloody frustrating!!

Yes that's the back one. B3420 code indicates rear issue? There wasn't an error code for the front but I'll check it just in case. Can the sensor unit itself fail other than just coming loose? One on fleabay for 35 but who's to say that works ‍♂️

Hi all, is this the exciter plate?
ive took the plug off, all seemed ok though the insulation was away from the wire entry point to the plug so could moisture ingress be the problem?
thr plastic thing that the plug goes into seemed pretty secure....

Happy to fix it, just need to get it through the MOT. The lights work fine but I have the warning yellow light on permanently and the warning messages which I clear on each drive. Is the warming light an MOT failure?

How is the new part fitted ? Is it a connector or do I need to solder...

    Thanks so much for replying
Is it just a case of resecuring it with some sealant/glue?...

could you provide any further description on where the sensor is mounted on the rear axle please and what I should look for to indicate problems.

I have the 2.8t 4x4 estate, 61 plate (non vxr)...
