  • Scratches on dash

Trying to get rid of some scratches on the dash. Its right in the middle so catches my eye. Ive seen some use heat guns to get rid of them, but dont have one so had a go with the wifes hairdryer. It worked to knock back the rough parts, and some of the high points, but there still a few lines that are cut into it. I was thinking of a tiny amount of superglue maybe, and press the edges down..what you think?.

    Before and after,

You can get dash repair kits but I doubt you'll get rid of it fully. It might be worth a try. How about hiding it with a small gel badge something like this?

Thanks andy. To be honest I've not looked at since I worked on it last so it's good enough for now. It looks like it's been sliced with whatever someone loaded the car up with. I've done it myself with skim beads in my work car. I was going to add a touch of super glue. Dab a bit in with a needle and old the edges down. My car has recently had gearbox bearings but I have to take it back as I'm struggling to put it in reverse...I've had nothing but hassle since picking it up. It's going in Tuesday for them to see what the matter is...hubs were mentioned... I dunno.

Sorry late reply. Whats left are raised edges which i was going to put a tiny amount of super glue on to hold them down. Got bigger worrries at the moment with this gearbox. Cheers for the link.
