Handbrake cables
Does anyone know if you can get handbrake cables for an insignia A on their own or do I need to get the handbrake motor and cables together (expensive). I have the electric handbrake with the central motor not the motors on the callipers...

Watching this with interest. I've had the same error for a couple of years now! Just cleared it on way to MOT and it came back after. Changed air filter, plugs and coil recently but still there. Had never hear of this PCV until now.

C1222
Evening all
insignia 1.8 petrol 2010
Yesterday I started getting the engine warning light, the red one with the exclamation mark coming on with an audible tone for maybe 5 seconds then going off.
When I read the codes I got code C1222 but googling doesn't make it clear what...

I had the error 3 also it's the sensor in the expansion tank. You can get the sensor on their own but easier to buy the tank with sensor in it. Super easy fit and cheap.

I had this as a fail a couple if weeks ago. As it had to go back for retest I just got National to fit the part. £120.

Thanks guys. A new one was taking too long to arrive. I got a used one via breakerlink and it arrived today and my mechanic will fit Monday so hopefully back on the road for Christmas.

Break caliper carrier
I'm desperately needing an rear right break caliper carrier. Part 5 46 028. I can't wait for it to come from Germany to get it installed before Christmas. Any suggestions of UK suppliers?
Thanks

You don't need to bleed these cars as the reservoir is at the highest point and any air will work its way up...

First thing I suggest is replacing the expansion tank cap, they only cost a few pounds. Then maybe replace the expansion tank itself, again a cheap and easy job.

There wasn't enough oil to stop the spark but if I'd left it it would have eventually caused problems. I got the oil out using the pump spray from a bottle of bathroom cleaner before removing the spark plugs.

I replace the rocker cover gasket a few days ago as I had an oil leak into the spark plug well. An easy job on the 1.8 petrol. Needed the torx star socket to get the bolts off tho...

Great thanks. I'm slowly losing coolant and I thing it's the header tanks so I'll replace and make sure I don't lose the float thing this time!

Coolant warning
Hi
I replaced the coolant tank and level sensor a couple of years ago. When putting it back together I didn't realise there was the wee float thing that worked with the sensor. After living with error 3 for years I'm going to fix. Does anyone know if the float thing comes with the tank...
