In all their wisdom Vauxhall had designed the 1.6 liter diesel in such way that if your chain needs replacement the gearbox has to come off. Chains nearly never needs replacement, right?

Is in doubt, just replace it. It's a 15 minutes job. Mines came of twice without any damage....

Mines was actually slipping so in my case zero changes it solved anything. It seems they had also updated some software update as one of the modules had a newer software date than the others....

Been there, done that. Some part of the clutch mechanism are worn out, just replace everything and file a complain to Vauxhall....

I drove mines from about 100.000 to over 200.000 without changing it. I doubt it was ever changed before by previous owners....

My 2009 Insignia with the 160 hp diesel had done over 200.000 miles without much trouble. It only developed the habit to destroy the auxiliary belt very quick. My Insignia B however had a terrible start, at a point I regret trading the old one for this one. Luckily most of it was covered by the warranty,...

I had the issue that my clutch started to slip, one and a half year after purchase. I did still had Opel warranty, but it turned out this wasn't covered as a clutch is a wear part. I did however only drove about 6000 miles with it, so you can understand I was a bit upset and disappointed when the dealer...

My experience those smaller engines are fine when driving normal but if you push them a bit harder there is not much extra power left. They already perform close to their maximum power under normal driving conditions....

First try to get it out from the outside. I once was unable to remove some parts on the inside and was able to just remove the switch itself from the outside....

That light indicate a failure in the electronic handbrake system, in it should not have any impact on the engine. So it would be wise to scan the car for error codes....

That's not normal, I think there is something wrong with your engine. That message only pops up when the car fails to complete several regens. So either your car has an issue, or your driving style doesn't match a diesel driving style. Are you doing a lot of short trips? Mines never shows that message....

The driver info display only shows DPF related warnings when it failed doing a regen multiple times or something is wrong with the system. When it's doing a normal regen nothing is shown. You could check the last time it has done a regen with some tools, like "OPL Monitor"....
