I'm just not sure about the interior on the new models, its skiny / thin if you know what i mean, no depth to the dashboard.

Would have to drive one to find out i suppose. Its what drove me to current car instead of new shape Astra, and glad it did .

I loved the facelift dash but the Insignia B has a more upmarket feel to it. I don't mean to p!ss anyone off with that comment, I'm just saying how it feels to me after owning both. It's gotten rid of that black matt plastic from the centre fascia and minimalised the use of buttons which is nice. It's also a lot thicker in the flesh. Photos don't do it justice on how wide and deep it really is. It's not gonna be everyone's cup of tea but I'd say sit in one and have a play to see how it suits you. It hooked me when I sat in one.

I much prefer the interior on my new Tourer compared to the old one and thats comparing an SRi now to an Elite. Just a much brighter and feels bigger place to sit and drive.

That's the way it is going again with all most manufacturers but with added ambient lighting around the dash and door cards.
I do like the wrapped in cabin on the older generation of models not just on Vauxhall, Honda has done nice job back then in 2006 with their Civics.

I went from a facelift Vectra 'C' to the Grand Sport and have found the GS to be a much better car to drive and to be in. TBH I never liked the look of the preface Insignia A, although the facelift was a positive step in the right direction.

The GS ticked all the boxes for me; not doing many miles these days, and wanting to return to a petrol car, I have found the 1.5T engine with 163bhp just what I wanted, although I miss the tremendous torque I had in the remapped Vectra.

IMO it represents a huge leap forward for Vauxhall, even if it may be a 'last hurrah' before PSA fully take over.

Interestingly, and somewhat surprising is that a largely cosmetic facelift GS is due for 2020.

I wonder if it will have PSA's version of Onstar and if so I wonder if it can be integrated into the current GS.

I was the same and i still cant fault the 1.5T engine, whether its knocking about or longer journeys. I've been all the way to the south of France fully laden with luggage for a 4 week trip, wife, baby and dog and it never missed a beat. Ironically i've now started a new job that has a 30 mile each way commute and it'd probably mean i wouldnt have the issues i had previously with a diesel but not sure i'd want to go back anyway especially as i'm now working in Derby and for whatever reason petrol is 5p\6p cheaper a litre than it is in Chesterfield so i just make sure i'm filling up whilst in Derby.

I imagine it would be on future models with Peugeot underpinnings; problem is that Onstar is now an extra-cost option on the GS, and given the limited lifespan left on the Insignia the PSA version may well not be available.

Sorry Ray but would have to disagree this time. I would have to take that sterring wheel off and straighten the edges (other than the bottom), the dash display looks bloody awful and the centre console from the switches down to the gear stick looks like it's half completed. Not for me sorry

Not to mention that tablet propped up on the dashboard.
