  • Vauxhall Privacy Shades

Wondering whether these would be an easier option to getting privacy glass installed. What do people think of them? Do they look like privacy glass from the outside?

  • #2
To be honest no they dont, but the best benefit is even with the window down they shade, and look cool. I had them on my old elite, miss them on my sri - or the kids do.

It's probs cheaper getting them tinted than buying the full set from vx

I had them in my facelift courtesy of exclusiv and loved them. They are ridiculously priced if buying from vx though. As exclusiv said. If you're going to pay their prices, you may as well get the windows tinted.

Here's a couple of shots of them in my Energy,

Have a look on eBay , there are a couple ot sets on there ( new but not gen VX ) for £85 . I had them on my last car and they work well , the other benefit of the blinds is that they are removable if you don’t want them fitted .
If my car didn’t have factory tinted windows I would have a set of these no problem

Thanks for the replies and especially the pics marko!

My thinking it not having the worry/cost of telling my insurance company if I retro fit privacy glass.

Do the shades allow the person in the back to see out ok despite making it harder to see in like privacy glass does?

Yeah you can see out fine. My photos taken inside haven't worked for some reason. I'll try again.

Cheers for that. Think I will ask my insurers the question and that will probably decide for me!

I thought at least the front side windows were only allowed a '15% tint', i.e. pass 85% of the light.

I’m pretty sure it’s 70% in the front.

Just asked my insurance company and there would be no additional charge.

Does anyone have an recommendations getting privacy glass installed?
