  • Millers CRX 75w90 Nano tech Gearbox oil

We know that the Millers stuff is typically very good, but is putting the Millers CRX 75w90 full synthetic (Nano tech) gear box oil OTT for the M32??

    TIA

Do you have any specs for it? Temperatures breaking the oil down is the M32’s main problem, so I would say it would only be worth it if it can withstand higher temperatures than the Fuch oil most people use. Would be interested to know if you find any info,

Designed for the lubrication of competition gearboxes. Manual transmissions, synchromesh, non-synchromesh, sequential gearboxes, transfer gearboxes, transaxles and hypoid differentials without limited slip which require API GL4 or GL5 performance. Recommended for modern transmissions where fully synthetic oil is specified, especially for high performance road and track day applications. Hewland, Xtrac, Glebe Transmissions, ZF, Tran X, Elite Transmissions. Note: Does not contain friction modifiers. For plate type Limited Slip differentials use CRX LS 75w90 NT

      User Benefits
•Exceptional cold flow properties for easier gear changes.
•Fast lubrication flow to component extremes on start up
•Very good oxidation resistance and superior thermal stability. Low friction/ low drag formulation to help reduce operating temperatures.
•High film strength for maximum component protection. Significantly reduces friction, temperature, wear and minimises power loss.

You really need lab tests to see how it handles heat, I would presume it does well but given the cost it would be interesting to see how it stacks up against Fuchs or Redline oil which is what most M32 specialists use. If your willing to dig around the web long enough you might find something. But for me at that price I would rather make more regular changes with the Fuchs oil..

If you want to stick to 75-90 then get redline MT-90. But I would read all the info here first: https://stillrunningstrong.com/car-m...rbox-bearings/

Makes for good reading that. I knew the M32 was a wank box, and just ticked over 30000 miles so want to get the oil changed.

                    Thanks again.

This is also useful, and slightly up lifting that the failures are not necessarily from the power going through the box. Also to note it’s worth trying to find out what oil yours has in, if it’s an older box it will need flushed as the synthetic oil will not mix with the original oil- later boxes are okay because they used GM synthetic oil. http://www.wgmotorworks.co.uk/repair...n/m32-gearbox/

I’ve a late 2016 model so no issues with the oil feeds to the 6th gear bearings. The oil in the box is the original oil, so should still be the synthetic stuff.

I was just looking at WG Motorworks yesterday funny enough. They do the Quaiffe LSD for the M32.
