        • I really thought the government furlough scheme was gonna save more jobs. We we're about the only country to do it but I'm beginning to think some employers have used the lockdown as an excuse to have a clear out. I understand a company that's gone bust it will be hard to hold them accountable but any company making some of it's staff redundant should be made to pay back any furlough money claimed for the employee being made redundant.

i know when we were furloughed at R.I, one of our team leaders mentioned that at a conference call with the top kiddies down south, namely Phil Wood and Brian Lynngaard, the phrase they used was "FURLOUGH WILL BE AN IDEAL OPPORTUNITY FOR EACH BRANCH TO GET RID OF ALL THE DEAD WOOD".
The team leader we had was superb and she was all for her team....she made sure we were aware of what was going on.....then she went silent all of a sudden.
Next thing we were all on furlough.

So, my personal opinion is, the companies know full well what they're doing and its so unfair to each and every one of us affected by it all.

                • Bad news indeed, you won't be the last either I'm afraid to say. As said a lot of companies have seen how the people still at work are coping, and are now expecting that to be the normal.
