Managed to refit original turbo with no new parts fitted.
Gave the car a cheap and basic service to try and get it running.
Hey presto, the car fired up first time, found an oil leak, stripped the turbo off to find that a gasket had slipped out of place.
Refit again and no oil leak. Left it running on Rickover for about 15 mins.
Then started to build the revs up slowly. Found no problems.
Got the car to the independent Audi specialist so that he could give the car a good check over.
Got a phone call just before he closed today, to get the confirmation that there is nothing wrong with the car.
We can collect the car back first thing in the morning.
When we drained the oil, there was 8.5 Ltrs in the sump. Should only be 4.3 ltrs.
So all the failed regens had dumped the fuel into the sump.
All the smoke was what the turbo could pull through the breathing system.
          Happy days.
My daughter is one lucky bunny.
          Lesson learned.
Glad you got it sorted, have to make sure now it completes it's regens.

Yes, and that is just what we drained off, so on top of that, add on however much oil and diesel mixture it burnt off to create the original diagnosis, then who knows how much was in the system altogether.

Nice to see that you got this sorted and is probably a reminder to us all to make sure we allow Regen or do a forced regen if our regens fail.

Right, my daughters car broke down again yesterday.
This is another problem now, nothing related to the turbo this time.
I think the engine has dropped a valve, had the car recovered straight to the garage this time, let them sort it out.
Waiting to hear from them on Monday.

Oh no, she's not having much luck, hope it's nothing too drastic.
