Has anyone heard that the On Star service will be terminated after about a year or so.

Im not sure if its worth paying for it on the new car i got, I have not had it before so not used to it, my worry is if i pay for it for a year i will get used to it and then miss it when its terminated

Does anyone know any more about whats going to happen, will it be taken over by anyone, its seems a shame to have all the hardware in the car and it not getting used

I'm living in the hope PSA will update the hardware/software once OnStar pull out of Europe. They've introduced Opel Connect which I think has already been fitted to the latest Opel Corsa in Europe.

Will we at least be able to carry on using the onboard wifi, i hope someone will take over the hardware as it is really a good idea, they cant just leave 100's of users that have it already with nothing surley

Used the year trial but never renewed and can’t say I’ve missed it. Only ever really found the option to lock/unlock the car from the app as useful. Only used the Wi-fi whilst travelling in France.

All OnStar services and Wi-Fi services will cease to be available on 31st December 2020. No trial or paid subscriptions or services, including emergency response services, will be available after that date.

Has anyone heard any news on a new service there was some talk of some one taking it over and offering something similar through the same network, but ive not heard anything new, personally I had it for a free month and a bit, then canceled

Quote from GMauthority.com from a year ago: "In Europe, new laws mandate all new cars sold since March 2018 must feature an “eCall” function to contact authorities in event of a crash. PSA will have to find a workaround"
So if Brexit does happen, I guess the UK will be out in the cold?
