  • Facelift Headlight replacement

Having some issues with the headlight on the passenger side. Had to replace the bulb and since then I've started to get bad condensation inside. I've tried the usual hairdryer, which helped but it came back just as bad.

I'm taking it to get checked at the dealers but think it may be a replacement. Could I be lucky and get it done under warranty or will I need to fund the replacement.

If I do need to fund it anyone got any idea what it may cost?

    Thanks

Hi, it is normal to get some condensation inside the lenses. Is it misted or heavy droplets? Could possibly be a problem if there's droplets but if its just mist its normal and even says so in the manual.

Try some of these inside the housing https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/50-x-1g-P...f16eb4b3747741 They should draw the moisture away.

I've already tried them and a bigger 5g packet too. Unfortunately the whole unit is covered in water drops like it's been raining. There is also a lot of mist inside. Do you have any other ideas. I read a post about sticking the unit inside a box with a hairdryer heating the inside to soften the glue. Could this be a plan to dry it out

Look on you tube for custom lighting. Might not find insignia but loads of video of how to strip seal headlights and reseal them. Not for the faint hearted but if it's that bad nothing much to lose.

I had an issue with the N/S headlamp having water in it, took it out and left it on the radiator for a few days then than a bead of silicone round the glass. Seems ok now
