Sitting on 117k and still going strong.
Plans are to put a turbo conversion on it and have it running around 240hp.
That's plenty for a car that weighs just over a ton.

Yeah was an option I think like the cup packs.
I'm sure it was only the red trophy that came standard.

That's interesting how would one tell if a gearbox mount is buggered? I am running the clio's bigger cousin (Modus) and suffer from randem judder (similar to clutch judder) when setting off mainly on hills but after few miles it settles again. its been doing it for about 8000 mile while i have had it so unsure how long b4.

Watch for the stick moving underload.
Go under and rock the engine check for excessive movement.
Common for the dog bone gearbox mount to fail

Ok will have look at the bone, dont get any stick movement as its just a switch its the manual gearbox and clutch but with little robot under hud that pushes and pulls the linkages .

Funnily enough, the slowest car I've ever driven was an 05 Clio, obviously not the sport edition! I borrowed it while my Saab was dying, I remember there was this stretch of motorway I used a lot at the time, you merge and then come off at the next exit. In the Saab I would be up to speed (70ish) on the merging lane, in the borrowed Clio I used to just about hit 65 when I got to my exit!
