Is there an easy route for the wire to get behind the ashtray.
I know manual gator is normally easy to lift but what about the auto.

Go along the trim at the side. Pulls off really easily

Hi Folks,

Just joined up, I bought myself a 15 plate Insignia with the Nav pack - I want to add some ambient lighting connected to the dash lighting so it all comes on when the lights come on and the dimmer works. Have read here that the yellow wire from the cigarette socket is best to use, how do I get to it?

dash trim off the front of the ashtray and then the ashtray comes out.
the trim underneath gearstick surround slides up and out....giving you access to the area that your fitting the lights too.

Hi I wired my lights through the headlight controller. So i can dim the leds through the dimmer switch use the black wire for neg and thinner of the two yellow wires as you pos + the lights will come on when headlights do and can be dimmed using dash dimmer
