Higher revs at idle & higher (edited to please post below) consumption are signs that it is happening. Not sure about the dash warning, I don't get one but maybe someone else will know a definitive answer?

Higher idle revs, but mainly increased fuel consumption (not decreased as previous post insists).

The previous post didn't 'insist' anything, it was merely a wording error

A little instruction from the dealer when handing over the car wouldn't go amiss either. DPF's were never even mentioned for either my SRi 160, or my Elite BiTurbo.

There was never any advice that predominently short journeys were a bad thing for cars so equiped.
