  • Piggy-back fuse wires...and which fuse?

Where would I get one of the piggy-back fuse wires from to hard-wire my Dash-Cam?....and is there a fuse to use which is preferable to any others?

I have searched online for the wires but I can never find them....I'm either being thick, or searching for the wrong thing.

Got mine from eBay. Often also called add a fuse or add a circuit.

        Thanks Lance

Although i've just searched for 'add a fuse' and all that comes up is the connector and a short length of wire with like a bullet connector on it.....I'm sure I've seen someone with one that has the connector and a long wire with the proper connector (Mini-usb in this case) on it to plug straight into the dash-cam

.....you'd be putting 12v straight in your dashcam if that was the case. usb power is 5v. you can get a hardwire kit which goes from 12v through a transformer to a usb output.

              Like this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/12V-to-5V-...HnQc7sfTvsCfdQ

You still need the piggy back fuse tap to provide 12v to the converter.

Thanks yeah similar to that.....the one I saw had the piggy-back connector on rather than bare wires.

12v from the piggy back red cable, join to the red on the converter. You can pick up an earth at the glove box light cable. That's it, just run the mini USB cable to the dash cam.

you could always got to halfords and spend £20 on a hardwire kit

i bought the el cheapo fitments from ebay and was not happy with them, so my buddy in halfords "gave" me the hardwire kit and the components feels so much sturdier and are all finished off neatly and cleanly

If that kit from Halfords is the same connector, mini-usb....it should work fine?
