  • DPF problem

Any help or advice gratefully recieved, ive got a 60 playe insignia cdti. My brother fitted the led to door mirror heater circuit si i know when DPF cleaning is in progress.
Since fitting this have had several DPF cleaning cycles witth no issues. Yesterday DPF cycle started, within 30 secs, limp mode no error lights or messages, turn ingnition off then restart- no limp mode. About every10 miles would the DPF clean cycle started and same problem eventually seemed to do a cycle which finished, went fine for about 200 miles then DPF cleaning cycle and went to limp mode
Anyone had anything like this happen?

Time to get the fault code reader out, you'll know more then.
After start up there are certain preconditions to be met before a regen is initiated so this would explain the delay once the ignition is cycled on/off e.g. engine temp/rpm/accessory use etc..
Hate to say it but sounds like trouble. Hope not.
If you do a lot of short journeys or stop start city driving the regen cycle may not be completed, if this happens multiple times then blockage will occur.
    Is this your typical journey?

Exclusiv brought it with 30k 18 months ago, done 50k in it. Had this before but didnt have the regen warning light so didnt put the 2 together tbh. Just quit the main job to become a student nurse so bit worried i may have to spend a fortune on it - am i correct in thinking to do a forced regen, get it warm and do 20 miles at 2.5k revs?

No ,forced regen is when it's hooked up to diagnostics, then the computer forces car to do a regen

Thanks, i have a glowplug down atm, its not the pressure sensing type though, would the non pressure sensing cause this?

Have you tested the glow plugs with a multimeter?
