Noticed this drops alot quicker than it should, is this just down to how the car is driven ? I covered about 25 mile but it dropped by 50 on the reading, this normal anyone else's do this ?

The trip computer looks at the recent driving style and compares that to how much is in the tank. If your driving style changes the trip computer will gradually adjust to give a new estimate.

If you had been cruising for a couple of hours at 50-60mph the trip computer might have logged 50mpg over that time and if you have two gallons in the tank it'll estimate that you've got 100 miles of fuel left.
If you then change driving style and go into stop-start town traffic with lots of accelerations and decelerations, it might see that you're then averaging 25mpg and those two gallons in the tank will only get you 50 miles under the new usage pattern.

Cold start always uses more fuel than driving with a engine that's warmed-up. The miles-left is based on the fuel consumption of the last few (100?) miles. So when starting driving with a cold engine, miles left will drop faster then actually driven, because consumption is higher then expected. It will then increase again a bit when the engine is warm.

In my car it act bit strange, when driving down the hill, car is in gear instant consumption 99mpg and miles left going down real fast. On the other hand when stationary with engine on miles left stay as they are or even sometimes go up. Shouldn't it be other way round?
